“If you are careless and keep putting things off, and always deferring the day after which you will attend to yourself, you will notice you are making no progress, and you will live and die as someone quite ordinary.”Epictetus
Why would I want to train with a coach?
Are you tired of putting in hours in the gym with no real results to show for it? Are you fed up of your eating patterns, and want to improve your health?
Sure, you can educate yourself and figure it all out. In fact, you can see the Educational Resources of my website for guidance. If you don’t know where to start, or just want to save yourself the hassle of figuring out the best calories, macronutrient and training split for you, answer this simple question: Can’t someone else do it?
The answer is yes. And that someone is me. We can work together on a one-to-one basis to develop a tailored plan to suit you, and your lifestyle. I firmly believe in the personalisation of nutrition and training programmes to suit the individual. I will work with you to deliver evidence-based programming, whilst we account for your individual circumstances.
Why should you train with me?
Height and the ability to photoshop myself into Simpsons memes is not the only thing that sets me apart from other fitness professionals. I don’t just want to change your body, I want to transform the way you look at yourself. I want you to become confident, happier and make educated choices that benefit you.
I will educate and help you understand the reasoning behind your programme. I think too many coaches and trainers give people plans and diets with no explanation why. You squat because I tell you. You eat protein because I tell you. I think this is a very reductionist way to practice, and doesn’t help you at all in the long run. I want you to understand why you are doing everything, and be unafraid to ask me for more information.
I do not believe in restrictive diets or “good/bad” foods. I want you to get to the point where you know how to best nourish yourself, no matter your circumstances. I want to see you better your relationship with food, and better your eating patterns.
I will send you on Assessment Forms and Training Questionnaires. I will review these, and following this we will arrange a consultation to discuss your goals and decide whether I am the best fit for you.
From then on, you will receive a plan weekly, which will lay out objectives for each week and reflect on your progress. In the interim, you can contact me via e-mail if you have any questions or concerns.
What you can expect from me:
- Weekly check-ins and unlimited e-mail support
- A plan tailored to your schedule, considering your likes and dislikes. We will adjust this weekly, and make changes as we go.
- Honesty. We will try things that will work, and things that will not.
- Nutritional guidance. I don’t do meal plans, or anything like that. I am not a dietitian. What I can offer you is the tools to make the best choices for your goals.
- Long-term, sustainable changes and guidance to achieving same. If you are looking for a quick fix, I am sadly not your gal.
Is it for me?
“Reaching your potential as a person is more than an idea. It’s the ultimate goal.”Oprah Winfrey
Some things will work, and some won’t. That is the nature of coaching and training. Ultimately, my aim here is for you to get to a point where you are confident enough to go it alone. You will be happy to train yourself and make your own empowered and educated food choices.
This journey will be difficult at times. It will challenge you, make you question yourself and push you beyond your comfort zone. There are no shortcuts, and the path of least resistance is a terrible teacher. Ultimately, you will come through this stronger, more confident and finally believe that you are capable of anything you set your mind to.
